About & Terms of Use

What Paracelsus is

Paracelsus is an information and reference tool for healthcare professionals. It presents published medical formulas, scores, and guideline information in a fast, usable form. Every calculation is deterministic, based on cited published sources, and verified against reference values in automated tests on every release.

What Paracelsus is not

Paracelsus is not medical advice, and it does not make patient-specific recommendations. It is not a substitute for clinical judgement, examination of the patient, or your local protocols and guidelines. No doctor-patient relationship is created by using it. It is intended for use by qualified healthcare professionals who are able to independently evaluate its output.

Your responsibility

Results depend entirely on the values entered and on the applicability of the underlying published formula to your patient. Always verify results independently before acting on them, check them against the cited sources, and follow your institution's protocols where they differ. Where the tool displays guideline excerpts (for example warfarin dose adjustment or high-INR management), these describe published guidance in general terms — the decision for an individual patient is yours.

No liability

Paracelsus is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Paracelsus and its creators accept no liability for any loss, harm, or damage arising from the use of, or reliance on, this tool or its output. Use of the tool constitutes acceptance of these terms.

Privacy

Paracelsus does not collect, store, or transmit patient data. Values you enter are processed on your device and, at most, kept in your browser's own per-tab storage so tools can share them during a session; they never reach a server. Your favourites and recent tools are stored only on your device.

Errors and feedback

If you believe a calculation, threshold, or reference is wrong, please tell us immediately at briandeklerk@gmail.com. Corrections are treated as the highest priority.
